There are eight independent professional fine arts institutions in China, namely, Central Academy of Fine Arts, China Academy of Art Academy, Xi Academy of Fine Arts, sichuan fine arts institute Academy of Fine Arts, Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Hubei Academy of Fine Arts and Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, which are often referred to as the "Eight Fine Arts Institutes".
