Autumn is the time when oranges and orange fruit trees sprout autumn buds. Autumn shoots are the mother branches of fruits, and the flowering of fruit trees depends on whether the autumn shoots are put well or not. When the autumn shoots are put in place, the process of protecting flowers and fruits will become very simple. Therefore, it is very important to release autumn shoots, which is directly related to whether our fruit trees can bear fruitful fruits next year.
In fact, the climate in each place is different, and the growth of fruit trees in each orchard is also different. It is not ideal to put the autumn shoots early and late. It is easy to put winter buds early, and winter buds will affect flower promotion. Autumn shoots are put too late to promote flowers normally. Therefore, putting autumn shoots early and putting them late will lead to fewer flowers.
We should put autumn shoots according to the actual situation of our orchard. The first thing to look at is climate and temperature. In cold climates, autumn shoots need to be put earlier. In a warm climate, autumn shoots can be postponed.
Secondly, it depends on the age of different trees and the fruit bearing capacity of fruit trees. Older and fruity fruit trees, as well as weak fruit trees, can put autumn shoots earlier. Some old fruit trees began to sprout autumn buds in late July. Fruit trees of average age begin to sprout autumn buds in mid-August. Fruit trees that are ready to bear fruit can put out autumn shoots at the end of August.
In autumn, the weather is dry and the water source is insufficient. Pruning and putting the shoots on the fruit trees will make the buds grow slowly and the quantity is very small. It is very important to keep enough water for the growth and germination of fruit trees.
Pruning of autumn shoots
It is best to provide enough water and fertilizer before putting autumn bamboo shoots. In this way, after pruning, the fruit trees will have enough nutrients to germinate evenly.
Compared with our usual pruning, we will cut more autumn shoots to make them as long as possible. If the branches germinate more, the length of the branches will not be particularly long. For example, short branches and long thorns will be less. When the branches are dense, we can trim some branches a little. However, if there are few branches and long branches hang fruit, it will become troublesome when spraying medicine and holding fruit.
When pruning fruit trees, it is necessary to keep them scattered and orderly, so that the fruit trees have different levels and form three-dimensional fruit hanging. Pruning at the same parallel height is not recommended. Cut the branches short, leaving about 15~20 cm, and some branches that are too thin do not need pruning.
Every season, every time, the management of the orchard can not be slack. From summer to autumn, fruit trees grow from young to mature. As fruit farmers, we still have a long way to go.
