ZBrush is a software that integrates professional digital sculpture, painting software, and 3D design. It has powerful functions and many tools, so many friends who are starting to learn Zbrush may find it difficult to learn! In fact, it’s not that the software is difficult to learn, nor that people are stupid. It’s mainly because we haven’t found the skills and don’t have a systematic teaching method, so it’s not that easy to learn! If you want to get started and want to improve Zbrush, this is the right place for you! Six sets of systematic and comprehensive ZB video courses are selected, each set has more than 20,000 students, and dozens of course sections are enough for entry and improvement~

Zbrush hand sculpting tutorial:
1. Add nails
Next we will create the nails: first use the standard brush to build the shape around the nails. After completing the construction, hold down the ctrl key and draw a mask on each finger to shape the nails. Then invert the mask and use the move brush. To extrude the nail, you can erase the mask at this point as it is no longer needed - hold down the ctrl key and click and drag on the canvas to do this. 2. Improve the shape of the nails
Take a moment to use the move brush to improve the shape of the nails. The nails have a rounded appearance because the nails themselves are not completely flat. Use the smooth brush to soften the lines and the fingertips as well. There are some adjustments to be made.
Select the pinch brush from the brushes menu and use it on the edges of the five nails, including the thumb. Switch to the standard brush and try to frame the nails correctly. Use a smaller radius to get accurate Effect. 3. Folds and wrinkles
Continue to sculpt the fingers and create folds and wrinkles on the joints. You can choose your own brush for this step. Personally, I choose to use the damstandard brush. If possible, Use the reference to draw the wrinkles on the back of the hand and the other side of the hand. Don't spend too much time on this stage as we will be doing some other sculpting later.

4. Improve details
Next we will very roughly sculpt the creases on the palm and strengthen the tendons on the back of the hand and refine the muscles and tendons on the wrist and forearm.
When carving, take a moment to go back and observe the entire carving to see if there are any missed details. Look at the model from all angles and make any necessary adjustments to ensure that the carving process goes smoothly.
Next we will focus on the smaller details. Isolate the model one last time and draw some lines on the back of the hand to create the veins. Try to respect the specific flow of the veins and take into account their differences. size.
In this step, we will use the standard and inflate brushes to get nice and realistic results. If you feel that the work is too sharp, you can use the smooth brush to smooth it, or erase some details, such as veins. If you feel there are not enough veins, you can add one or more veins. 5. When using lazymouse
When carving, continue to compare the reference pictures, draw some tiny veins on the wrist, and draw regular lines. It is recommended to use lazymouse, which is a function in ZBrush for more precise carving. , just press the l key to activate. 6. Improve wrinkles
Now, we will sculpt the area between the thumb and palm. Before switching to the joint area where we will focus on the wrinkles, try to refine the appearance, first with the inflate brush, and then Using the pinch brush, make other sculpting channels in those wrinkles. Repaint and sharpen the wrinkles that you feel are not clear enough, then use a smaller radius damstandard brush to create tiny details around the knuckles and on the tips of the fingers.
7. Palms and nails
After completing the previous step, focus on carving the palm part to perfect the details. First draw the main folds, then take the time to carve the tiny details and use the pinch brush. Sharpen and thin the nails as they are too thick and need to be thinned, this step may take a little longer as you have to carve each nail in turn, but it is essential in order to achieve a realistic effect. 8. Set the finger positions
Use the damstandard brush with a smaller radius to add very small details on both sides of the hand and the back of the wrist. Once completed, turn the hand over and examine the entire hand. You may notice So far, the hand is still too flat, luckily this is easy to adjust, but requires switching to a lower resolution level first so that the higher levels of detail aren't broken.
Set the sdiv slider to level 3, mask the little finger and third finger, invert the mask, and move the two fingers down. If necessary, adjust the height of the other fingers, then erase the mask and use the sdiv slider (or hit the D key a few times on your keyboard) to restore a higher level of detail.
