Setcreasea purpurea Boom. (Latin scientific name: Setcreasea purpurea Boom.), also known as Setcreasea purpurea Boom., also known as Setcreasea purpurea Boom., is a perennial herbaceous plant of the Setcrease family, with a plant height of 20- 30 cm, the leaves are oblong, slightly curly, purple-red, and covered with fine tomentose. The stems are purple-brown, upright at first, and become semi-vine after elongation, taking on a prostrate shape. It blooms in spring and summer, with pink flowers in some varieties and white stripes on the leaves. The flowers are small and white, blooming in summer and autumn. Flowers are larger under conditions of sufficient sunshine.
Purple commelina ("Guangxi Traditional Chinese Medicine") has the same name as Xue Jianchou ("Guangxi Traditional Chinese Medicine"), duckweed, Benshan golden thread, duck tongue yellow ("Quanzhou Materia Medica").
