decrease
When the temperature is high in summer, the longevity flower will go into dormancy, and too many leaves will consume its own nutrition. Therefore, when the last flower falls, it should be pruned again to reduce consumption and increase air circulation, which is conducive to growing more buds in autumn. When pruning, only 3-5cm trunk is left at the bottom, and 3-4 leaves are left on the trunk. Don't be soft-hearted when pruning. Only in this way can the longevity flower retain a lot of nutrition and reduce consumption. Check whether there are diseased branches when pruning, and clean them up in time when found.
Maintenance after pruning
In summer, longevity flowers should not be exposed to direct sunlight, and should be maintained in a diffuse and ventilated place. Moreover, longevity flowers are drought-tolerant, and the demand for water is not great. They should wait until the soil is dry before watering. Be careful not to water in hot noon in summer, but choose to water in the morning or evening when the weather is cool.
Longevity cutting
Don't waste the pruned branches, they can be used to cultivate the seedlings of longevity flowers.
1, prepare basin soil
First, we prepare flowerpots and soil for cutting. Try to choose flowerpots with good drainage and air permeability for cutting. Cutting soil can be mixed evenly according to the ratio of coarse sand to plain soil = 3:1.
pollard
Cut off the residual flowers, and then cut them into sections, making sure that each section has at least one node. Dry the cut branches in the shade for half an hour.
Step 3 insert the soil
Insert the trimmed branches into the soil about 2-3 cm deep, and gently press the edges of the branches to make the soil and branches fully contact. Then water it.
