Baoding, known as Shanggu, Baozhou and Fu Bao in ancient times, also known as Boot City, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Hebei Province. It is one of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei regional central cities approved by the State Council. In the 12th year of Yuan Dynasty (1275), Shuntian Road was changed to Baoding Road. Since then, the name Baoding has taken the meaning of keeping peace forever. Since ancient times, it has been "three customs control in the north, nine provinces in the south and four prefectures."
