Zhongshan Hospital affiliated to Xiamen University (hereinafter referred to as Zhongshan Hospital) was established in 1928, donated by patriotic overseas Chinese and local celebrities, aiming at promoting Dr. Sun Yat-sen's spirit of "serving the public and benefiting the society". Dr. Lin Wenqing, then president of Xiamen University and medical expert, served as the first dean. 1988 moved and rebuilt with the development of Xiamen special economic zone, and reopened in July 1. In 2005, it became the first affiliated hospital of Xiamen University, and now it has developed into a third-class first-class general hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention and health care, with four campuses (hospital headquarters, Jinbang branch, Xiahe branch and East branch [under construction]) and five community health service centers, as well as a world-renowned high-level research university affiliated hospital.
