Nie Zheng (? -Before 397), a chivalrous man in the Warring States period, from the south (now southeast of Jiyuan), was called Ren Xia, one of The Four Assassins in the Warring States period. Nie Zheng, a young chivalrous man, took killing as his career, took refuge in his mother and sister (now Shandong) and took slaughter as his career. Yan Zhongzi, a doctor of the Han Dynasty, fled Puyang because of his enmity with Han (a famous person), and after hearing the name, he offered a huge sum of money for his mother's birthday, became friends with Zheng and asked for revenge. Three years after his mother's death, Nie Zheng recalled Yan Zhongzi's kindness and entered Hanyang Yang Zhai (now Yuzhou) alone. With the help of Bai Hongguan, he assassinated Xia Lei and killed dozens of Xia Lei guards. For fear of implicating her sister who looks similar, she ruined her face with a sword, gouged out her eyes and cut her stomach. Her sister searched for her brother's body in North Korea, lay down and wept bitterly, and then died in front of Nie Zheng's body (one said that she died suddenly in front of Nie Zheng's body because of excessive grief). See Historical Records Biography of Assassins for his deeds. Guo Moruo once wrote the historical drama Flowers of Tang Di, praising Nie Zheng's chivalrous spirit. There is a Nie Zhengtai in memory of him in the northwest of Yuzhou City, Henan Province.
