PPT What is breast fibroadenoma?
Breast fibroadenoma, also known as "mammary nucleus" in Chinese medicine, is the most common benign tumor of breast, and it is a mixed tumor of fibrous tissue and glandular epithelium in lobules of breast. Breast fibroadenoma can occur in women of any age after puberty, but it is more common in young women aged 18~25.

Professor Yang Yanping from the Department of Breast Imaging in the new century pointed out that breast fibroma is a benign tumor and rarely recurs after surgical resection. Postoperative recurrence of tumor should be regarded as multiple tumors, not as recurrence. Pathological examination should be done to prevent missed diagnosis of malignant tumor. In addition, for those who have recurred in the original site for many times or shortly after resection, they should be highly vigilant and strengthen monitoring to prevent malignant transformation.

Professor Yang Yanping from the Department of Mammography in the new century suggested that the treatment should vary from person to person, and the key to cure is to analyze clearly and detect clearly the disease types! Next, please learn about the cure of breast department in the new century with us.

Clinical symptoms of breast fibroadenoma

The most important clinical manifestation of breast fibroadenoma is breast lump, and in most cases, breast lump is the only symptom of this disease, rarely accompanied by breast pain and nipple discharge. Breast fibroadenoma usually occurs in the outer upper quadrant of the breast, often single or multiple.

Adenomas are round or oval, ranging in size from soybeans to pigeon eggs, smaller or larger, and occasionally huge. The surface is smooth, the texture is tough, the boundary is clear, there is no adhesion with the skin and surrounding tissues, the activity is large, and it feels slippery. Axillary lymph nodes are not swollen. Most adenomas have no conscious pain and no obvious tenderness. Tumors grow slowly and can remain unchanged for several years. However, it can increase rapidly during pregnancy and lactation, and some individuals can develop sarcomatosis at this time.

Breast fibroadenoma masses are mostly found by patients unintentionally, generally without pain, and will not change with menstrual cycle. However, in a few cases, adenoma coexists with breast hyperplasia, and premenstrual breast pain may occur at this time.

Clinical classification of breast fibroadenoma

Breast fibroma can be generally divided into the following three types clinically:

1, a common fibroadenoma, this type is the most common, with small tumor body and slow growth, generally less than 3CM.

2. Juvenile fibroadenoma mostly occurs at menarche and is rare in clinic. It is characterized by fast growth and large tumor. The course of the disease is about 1 year, and the maximum diameter of the tumor is 1- 13CM.

3. Giant fibroadenoma: it is more common in middle-aged women, and can be seen in women before and after pregnancy, lactation and amenorrhea. It is characterized by large growth, which can reach more than 10CM, and occasional sarcomatosis.
