Causes
The causes of pouch mainly include the following factors: First, with the increase of age, the skin, subcutaneous tissue, muscles and their related structures degenerate, making the skin thinner, less elastic and relaxed, while the fat behind the orbital diaphragm does not shrink, but increases, and protrudes to the relaxed orbital diaphragm skin, showing pouch changes. Secondly, congenital genetic factors lead to the hypertrophy of orbicularis oculi muscle and the appearance of wheel-shaped processes outside the skin, especially when smiling. Thirdly, traumatic factors cause injuries to orbicularis oculi muscle and orbital diaphragm, that is, hypertrophic orbital fat protrudes under the weak skin. In addition, due to fatigue, poor sleep, excessive nightlife and systemic or chronic diseases, it is easy to induce or accelerate the appearance of eye bags, and even dark circles around the orbit.
classification
bags under the eyes can generally be divided into two categories: true bags under the eyes and false bags under the eyes. False bags under the eyes are more common in young people, mainly due to genetic factors. The manifestation is that the orbicularis oculi muscle of the lower eyelid is hypertrophy, but the skin and muscles are not slack, and the fat behind the orbital diaphragm is not hypertrophy. What is presented is that the eye bags are only the wheel-shaped protrusions of the orbicularis oculi muscle, especially when smiling, so they are generally not called eyelid bags. True bags under the eyes will become weak and sickly with age. If you live and work too hard, your skin will relax and your subcutaneous fat will decrease. However, the fat behind the orbital gills will easily show bag-like changes in the lower eyelid. With age, the degree and intensity of facial expression muscle activity will have certain effects on the relaxation of skin and muscles and the degree of fat protruding behind the orbital gills, so that the forms and degrees of bags under the eyes will be different.
Another kind of pseudopouch is eyelid edema caused by crying, various local eye infections, food, drug or cosmetic allergies, but the "pouch" caused by these conditions will subside with the treatment and elimination of the cause.
Etiology
1) The etiology of aging mostly occurs in middle-aged and elderly people over 4 years old, which is closely related to human aging, facial tissue aging and degenerative changes, and mainly includes the following factors: the skin elasticity of lower eyelid is weakened and sagging; The orbicularis oculi muscle of the lower eyelid degenerates, its elasticity is weakened, and it is slack and atrophied. The orbital septum degenerates and relaxes, and the supporting force is weakened; Orbital fatty degeneration and displacement, or fatty hyperplasia. 2) Genetic Etiology Some young people can also have lower eyelid bags, which are mostly related to heredity, that is, the false bags mentioned above.
Relationship with obesity
The eyeball is located in the orbit, and is surrounded by fat tissue pads, which play a protective and buffering role and facilitate eye movement. Even for the fattest or thinnest people, the amount of fat around the eyeball is still close to normal. So eyelid bags have nothing to do with obesity.
Recurrence problem
Generally, it is not easy to recur except that the fat removal after the first eye bag skin, orbicularis oculi muscle and orbital diaphragm is not enough. Because the fat tissue of adult human body is mainly the hypertrophy of fat cells, and fat cells will not increase. Even so, with the increase of age, the lower eyelid skin will still relax after blepharoplasty, so it will recur to varying degrees after blepharoplasty.
The problem of dark circles
Except the skin of the lower eyelid is flabby and wrinkled, and the lower eyelid is bloated and baggy, it is accompanied by the concave deformity of the lower eyelid's semilunar arc in the eye-nose sulcus and infraorbital sulcus. Or it is often accompanied by a black ring appearance with a half-moon depression. Mladick called it a "black ring" and thought that the reasons were: first, the "shadow" produced visually; The other is pigmentation. For the former, it is easier to achieve satisfactory cosmetic effect through blepharoplasty, while the latter has poor effect (Figure 23-65).
Psychological preparation
Those who are going to undergo blepharoplasty should be fully psychologically prepared for the following situations: A, the blepharoplasty is unlikely to be completely removed; B there may be temporary mild ectropion after eyelid margin approach, which will take two to three months to recover; C because of the removal of redundant skin, the incision marks are obvious temporarily, especially under the lateral canthus, and it will not be obvious after three months to six months.
bags under the eyes, that is, lower eyelid edema, are prone to edema due to the thin eyelid skin and loose subcutaneous tissue. The formation of bags under the eyes, there are genetic factors, but also because of kidney disease, pregnancy, lack of sleep or staying up late, fatigue and so on will cause the emergence of bags under the eyes. Moreover, if the eyes lack exercise, they always have an expression, which will also produce bags under the eyes and wrinkles.
To prevent the appearance of bags under the eyes, we should pay attention to the following aspects:
1. To ensure adequate sleep and sleep quality, drink less water before going to bed and raise the pillow appropriately.
2. Eat foods rich in vitamin A and vitamin B2, such as carrots, ginseng, animal liver and beans.
3. Do eye relaxation exercises regularly. The practice is: first, squint your eyes, hold down some muscles under your eyes with your index finger and middle finger, and push them to the bridge of your nose from both sides with a little force, and then reset them after 1 seconds; Then relax the eye muscles, start to raise your eyebrows, enlarge your eyes as much as possible, close your eyes as much as possible after a few seconds, and shrink the muscles around your nose and eyes to one place; Finally, relax your eyes, close your eyes and lift your eyebrows.
4. Use warm foundation to adjust the skin color of the face when making up. The color of the eye bags should be coordinated with the skin color of the face. Do not paint bright colors on the eye bags, otherwise it will make the eye bags more obvious.
