Young tree shaping and pruning process:
1 year: before the buds germinate in the year of planting, leave about 80 cm to dry, and leave 6 ~ 8 full buds within 30 cm below the incision.
In the second year, in order to make the main branch of the first layer grow vigorously, the original upright central branch was thinned out and the competitive branch below was selected as the central branch. Under the central branch, choose 1 ~ 3 branches with suitable growth direction and position, which form a base angle of 40 ~ 60 with the trunk as the first layer of main branches, and lightly cut or not cut the weak branches.
In the third year, the extension branch on the original central branch is controlled or thinned, and the main branch of the first layer is continuously selected. The lower competitive branches are used as extension branches, with a short section of 50-60 cm, and the three branches of the first layer are each left with a short section of 30-40 cm.
The fourth year: at the distance of 0/00 ~120cm from the third main branch, choose the second layer 1 ~ 2 main branch. If you can't choose them that year, you can choose them next year, leaving 30 centimeters in the layer. The selected fourth and fifth main branches are respectively inserted between the three main branches of the first floor. The cutting length of each main branch is the same as that of last year.
The fifth year: thinning the original head on the central trunk, leaving competitive branches as extension branches. The main branch is cut short by about 40 cm. Select and keep the second side branch opposite to the first side branch of each main branch. If the auxiliary branches do not affect the growth of the main branches and side branches, they can be kept for a long time.
Sixth year: 70 ~ 80 cm away from the fifth main branch, choose the third main branch 1 ~ 2.
