What does an equalizer do?
What is the function of balancer?
What is the function and principle of equalizer?
The balancer has three main functions: adjusting timbre, adjusting sound field and suppressing acoustic feedback.
Equalizer is a kind of electronic equipment, which can adjust various frequency components independently, compensate the defects of speakers and sound fields by adjusting electrical signals of different frequencies, and compensate and modify various sound sources and other special functions.
The balancer on the general mixer can only adjust the high frequency, intermediate frequency and low frequency electrical signals respectively. In communication system, inserting equalizer in baseband system can reduce the influence of intersymbol interference.

Type of balancer
Frequency domain equalizer
Frequency domain equalizer uses the frequency characteristics of tunable filter to compensate the frequency characteristics and group delay characteristics of the actual channel, so that the total frequency characteristics of the whole system including equalizer can meet the transmission conditions without inter-symbol interference.
Time domain equalizer
Considering the time response directly, the time domain equalizer makes the impulse response of the whole transmission system including the equalizer meet the condition of no inter-symbol interference. Frequency domain equalization meets the requirements of Nyquist shaping theorem, and the condition of no intersymbol interference is relatively loose only at the judgment point. Therefore, in digital communication, time domain equalizer is widely used.
Time domain equalizer can be divided into linear equalizer and nonlinear equalizer. If the judgment result in the receiver is fed back to the parameter adjustment of the equalizer, it is a nonlinear equalizer;
On the contrary, it is a linear balancer. Among linear balancers, the most commonly used balancer structure is a linear horizontal balancer, which consists of multiple tapped delay lines, and the delay interval is equal to the symbol interval. There are many kinds of nonlinear equalizers, including decision feedback equalizers, maximum likelihood symbol detectors and maximum likelihood sequence estimation.
