First, before the denture is in place, it should be confirmed whether the tissue surface of the denture is smooth before wearing it. Under normal circumstances, complete dentures can be put in place smoothly. Those that can't be put in place are mostly because the base has obvious concave parts, which need to be polished and modified to be put in place. Be careful not to remove too much when grinding, and don't destroy the edge closure.
Second, when checking the stability of the denture, put the forefinger of both hands on the occlusal surface of the premolar area on both sides and press left and right alternately. If there is warping, it is because the hard area of the maxilla does not buffer the corresponding tissue surface of the base, or the mandibular, external oblique ridge and mandibular protuberance areas do not buffer the corresponding tissue surface of the base. After proper buffering, warping will disappear. If there is still warping after modification, it is necessary to consider whether the base is deformed, or whether the impression and model are inaccurate, and redo it if necessary.
Third, check the base: the long side will affect the retention of the denture, so the long part should be worn off; Too short incisal margin can also affect retention, which is common on the buccal side of maxilla and the back side of lingual margin of mandible. It can be lengthened with self-setting plastic or redone. Too long or too short edges are related to inaccurate impression or improper production. Pay special attention to whether the base edge of the labial and buccal frenulum is in the way or not, and if it is, it must be polished and replaced. The polished surface of the base should be concave, and if it is convex, it should be ground. However, the concavity of the polished surface should not be too large, especially in the marginal area of the buccal side of the mandible.
Fourth, check the jaw position relationship and make a complete denture after it is correct: when it is worn in the patient's mouth for middle occlusion, the upper and lower dentition should have a good occlusion relationship. However, after wearing complete denture, mandibular retraction, mandibular deviation or anterior teeth occlusion may also occur.
Verb (abbreviation of verb) check the occlusal relationship: check on the basis of correct jaw position relationship. The examination method is to put occlusal paper between the occlusal surfaces of the upper and lower dentition, so that the patient can bite in the middle, forward and sideways. There are blue marks on the surface of individual teeth, or those with obvious blue marks are early contact points, which can be removed by grinding.
Sixth, check the pain.
Seven, grinding: grinding is to adjust the early contact point of the middle bite, so that the middle bite can achieve extensive and uniform contact and stable cusp-alveolar relationship, and adjust the cusp that interferes with the lateral bite and the protrusive bite to achieve balanced occlusal contact.
Eight, the guidance of wearing teeth: in order to make patients adapt to dentures as soon as possible and play their functions, doctors should help patients have a correct understanding and understanding of the use of dentures.
