Pruning is an important technical measure in fruit tree cultivation management. Choosing a reasonable tree shape and using correct pruning techniques in orchard are important guarantees to realize early fruit, high yield, stable yield and high quality of fruit trees, so pruning has always been valued by fruit tree producers. Pruning of fruit trees is a technique to cultivate the main branches and crowns of trees into specific structures and shapes by pruning and applying corresponding cultivation techniques, which is also called pruning of fruit trees. Pruning refers to the direct pruning (or cutting) of fruit trees and similar surgical operations in order to control the number of branches (including addition, orientation and growth potential). Cutting roots and applying plant growth regulators for the purpose of controlling the number and growth of branches also belong to pruning. The former is called root pruning and the latter is called chemical pruning.
