Fengzhen is located in the south-central part of Wulanchabu, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, at the junction of Hebei Province, Shanxi Province and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is the southern gate of the autonomous region and is known as "the ancient town and business inn beyond the Great Wall". The total area of the city is 2704 square kilometers, of which the urban area is 59 square kilometers.
