1. Peach
Also known as Maotao, ordinary peach. The fruit is round and hairy. The winter buds have dense hairs, the leaves are elliptic and lanceolate, and the lateral veins of the leaves are combined into a net before reaching the leaf margin, and the leaf margin is serrated. The nucleus is large, rectangular and grooved. This species has the most cultivated varieties and the widest distribution, and is also the main rootstock of cultivated peaches in north and south China. There are three variants:
(1) Flat Peach
The fruit is oblate, the stone is small and round, and there are many varieties. There are two kinds: hairy and hairless.
(2) Nectarine
Also known as Guangtao and Li Guangtao. The skin is smooth and hairless, and the fruit is round or oblate.
(3) Shouxing Peach
Trees have short roots and shallow roots, including safflower, pink flower and white flower. Generally used for ornamental purposes, it can be used as a dwarf rootstock and also as a raw material for peach dwarf breeding.
2. peaches
Produced in the mountainous areas of North China and Northwest China. Small trees with smooth trunk skin and slender branches. The fruit is round, cracked at maturity and inedible. The nucleus is round with grooves and spots on the surface. Strong cold tolerance and drought tolerance. There are three types of peaches, peach and peach, which are the main peach rootstocks in northern China.
3. Walnut
Wild distribution in Tibet Plateau and Sichuan. A tree with slender branches and green branches. Flowers are white, solitary or both. The fruit is nearly spherical, slightly smaller, and the nucleus is ovoid, flat and smooth. Fruit can be eaten or dried.
4. Xinjiang peach
Produced in Central Asia. The lateral veins of leaves do not form a network when they go straight out to the edge of leaves, and there are grooves on the surface of the nucleus. Widely distributed in southern and northern Xinjiang, most sweet peaches belong to this category, and there are also a few cultivated in Zhangye and Linze, Gansu Province. Xinjiang peach has two varieties, Xinjiang nectarine and Xinjiang flat peach, and a new variety, Li Guang flat peach. Crotalaria glabra.
5. Gansu peach
Produced in Shaanxi and Gansu provinces. Winter buds are hairless, the leaves are elliptic-lanceolate, and the leaf margin is serrated. There are grooves on the surface of the nucleus, but there are no spots. Style is longer than pistil.
6. Shangan Mountain Peach
Northwest China. The base of leaves is round, and the serrations are round and blunt. The nucleus is oval.
