Tongxiang City is located in Hangjiahu Plain in the north of Zhejiang Province, with geographical coordinates of 30 28' ~ 30 47' north latitude and12017' ~120 39' east longitude. It is adjacent to Xiuzhou District of Jiaxing City in the east, Haining City in the south, Deqing County and Yuhang District of Hangzhou City in the north, Nanxun District of Huzhou City in the northwest and Wujiang District of Jiangsu Province in the north. The urban area is 40km away from Shanghai/KLOC-0 and 65km away from Hangzhou. Water and land transportation arteries such as Shanghai-Kunming Expressway (G60), Shenjiahu Expressway (S 12), National Highway 320, Shanghai-Hangzhou Railway Passenger Dedicated Line and Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal run through the whole territory.
