Sculpture modeling

In addition to the unique growth form of narcissus bulbs, the modeling of narcissus is mainly accomplished by carving to destroy the development of cell tissue and cause abnormal growth. The following is a basic carving method.

First, purification before carving, peeling off the brown skin on the bulb, and removing dirt, dead roots and rotten impurities at the same time to avoid pollution and mildew of scales or roots during hydroponics.

2. Open the lid, move the knife on the curved scale surface of the flower bud, pinch the bulb with your left hand and hold the traditional daffodil knife with your right hand, carve an arc along the root disk 1cm, and peel off the scales along the ball end until all the flower buds are exposed.

Thirdly, the gap temporarily removes the scales sandwiched between buds, which increases the space between buds and is beneficial to the carving of leaves and pedicels. There are two ways to clear the gap, one is to carve with a bevel knife and a narrow flat shovel, and the other is to carve with a traditional narcissus tip sticking into the gap.

Fourth, peel off the exposed buds. Generally speaking, a diagonal knife is used to move the bracts from the end of the bud to the base to prevent the bud from being damaged.

Verb (verb's abbreviation) Leaf cutting determines the position and width of the leaf cutting according to the requirements of modeling. First, cut a hole at the end of the blade with a bevel knife, and then cut it along the edge of the blade towards the base with a round knife. Because the structure of the circular knife is that the outer arc of the blade has a certain inclination, it is convenient to cut the blade and avoid damaging the flower bud. If you need to cut the blade to the base, you can use a pointed triangular knife and insert it into the base along the vein.

6. Scrape the stem according to the modeling requirements to determine the weight and orientation of the thin skin of the stem, and scrape it from the stem end to the base with a bevel knife. If you need to scrape the bulb, you can use a pointed triangular knife to pass through the bulb along the thin skin of the pedicel to prevent the pedicel from breaking and causing dumb flowers. Pay attention to protect the pedicle when scraping the thin skin of the pedicle.

Seven, carving the side bud mother bulb generally has more than one pair of side buds, most of which have no flower arrows, but some hypertrophy side buds have flower arrows, so be careful when carving side buds. The lateral bud is an integral part of the whole narcissus bulb and an indispensable part of narcissus modeling. The carving method of lateral buds is as follows:

2. Cut a knife from the end of the bud to make the leaf end hook when forming, and use a fixed knife to make the leaf lower than the leaf of the lateral bud. Generally, scales, buds and blade tips are cut into concave shapes together. If the concavity is large, the tip of the blade is hook-shaped during molding.

3. Move a knife on the surface of the scales bent from the buds, peel off half of the scales and buds from the root disk Ic to the bud end to expose the leaves, and cut off 1/2 of the width of the leaves from the leaf end along the leaf edge to the bottom of the leaves to make them look like bird fluff or bird breasts, or curl into rings, such as fish eyes.

4. Move the knife on the scale surface bent from the bud, leaving 1cm on the scales at the root disk and bud end respectively, and cut the scales, buds and leaves in the middle part together. Based on the leaf, if the width of the leaf is cut off by 1/3, the leaf will not grow from the bud end, but from the section in the middle of the lateral bud, showing a zigzag shape. It's like a hillside or hill when it's shaped. If there is a flower arrow in the side bud, scrape a little thin skin on the pedicel near the bud, which looks like a small tree on the hillside.

Eight, finishing Finally, all the incisions should be trimmed neatly, which not only keeps the appearance beautiful, but also prevents the debris from rotting and affecting the flower ball. If the flower ball wants to expand and grow, the scales at the bottom should be cut regularly.
