What are the common forging processes?
Forging is a kind of processing method which uses forging press to exert pressure on metal blank to make it produce plastic deformation, so as to obtain forgings with certain mechanical properties, shapes and sizes. Many important parts with high load and bad working conditions mostly use forgings. While simple shape plates, profiles or weldments that can be rolled can be cast.

Forging is usually divided into free forging, die forging and die forging according to forming methods. Each forging method has its own characteristics and scope of application. When choosing the forging method, we must choose the right press according to the requirements of forging products and parts.

For single, small, complex and large forgings, free forging, manual free forging and machine free forging are mostly used. The tools used in free forging are simple, and forging hammers and hydraulic presses are commonly used.

For forgings produced in batches or small batches, tire forging or die forging can be used. Commonly used equipment includes electric screw press, crank press, hydraulic press, etc.

For mass production, die forging or other special die forging should be adopted.

In a word, according to the results of manufacturability and economy analysis, we should choose a reasonable, feasible, energy-saving, material-saving and efficient forging process scheme and press.
