2. Forming (also called carding): During the heating process, the deactivated raw materials are arranged into the basic shape of Yuexi Cuijian tea by carding machine. Attention should be paid to: (1) mechanical preheating in advance. (2) When the temperature in the carding machine groove reaches 90 degrees (it feels hot at about 5 cm from the groove surface), it is the suitable forming temperature. (3) evenly placing the tea raw materials after water fixation into the grooves of the carding machine, so that the tea raw materials are evenly heated and quickly extruded into strips in the vibration and reciprocating motion of the machine. (4) The setting time is about 3 minutes. It is required that the molded tea leaves are green and bright in color, natural and dense in evenness, spindle-shaped, and can not have obvious appearance defects such as curl, fluffy and burnt edge. The semi-finished products after molding should be naturally spread and cooled.
3. Drying: the molded tea semi-finished product is processed by a dryer to remove part of its moisture and improve the aroma of tea. Drying is carried out in two times, the first drying is required to be 70% dry, then it is naturally spread and cooled, and then the second drying is carried out until it is dry enough. Attention should be paid when drying: (1) The dryer is preheated in advance; (2) The first drying temperature is about 125, and the second drying temperature is about110; (3) evenly spreading the semi-finished products after shaping or first drying on a guide vane plate or a vane conveyor belt of the dryer; (4) Drying time: 6-7 minutes for the first time and about 8 minutes for the second time. After drying, the color of tea leaves is green, the strips are compact and natural, the tea fragrance is outstanding, and the moisture content is ≤8%. It conforms to the shape, taste and fragrance characteristics of Yuexi Cuijian tea. There should be no curling, fluffy, burning, yellowing and other phenomena.
