Grinding burn refers to the phenomenon that the local structure of the workpiece surface changes and some parts of the workpiece surface are oxidized and discolored due to the instantaneous high temperature during grinding.

Grinding burn will reduce the wear resistance, corrosion resistance and fatigue strength of materials, and cracks will appear when the burn is serious.
