Almost everyone will encounter nosebleeds in their lives. Some time ago, a boy of one or three years old in Hunan "looked up to stop bleeding" caused blood to flow to his throat and blood clots blocked his trachea. The video of his death that he didn't save caught everyone's attention. How to stop bleeding? Otolaryngologists tell you three ways.

1. Finger pressing to stop bleeding: press your thumb and forefinger on both sides of your nose and open your mouth to breathe for about 3-5 minutes. Special reminder: the pressing part must be on both sides of the nose.

2. Ice pack to stop bleeding: cold compress forehead and neck with ice pack. If there is no ice pack for the time being, you can also use frozen drinks instead. If there is a material that is easy to fix, it can also be applied to the nasal cavity.

3. Packing hemostasis: The so-called packing hemostasis generally refers to the packing carried out by doctors in regular specialized hospitals, rather than packing with toilet paper at home, because unclean toilet paper will increase the chance of infection when seeking medical treatment or increase the difficulty of nasal cavity cleaning.

If the nose bleeds, you should first lower your head and press the alar on both sides of the nasal cavity, and at the same time, you should have cold compress materials at hand for cold compress. If the bleeding does not stop within 10-20 minutes, you should go to a regular hospital to find a doctor for professional tamponade and other related measures.

Did your child learn to swim in this hot summer vacation? Playing with water at the seaside, washing your hair often in playing tag will lead to ear inflammation. The problem is that children feel uncomfortable when their ears hurt and can't sleep well. In severe cases, the ear canal will swell and fester. During the summer vacation, they can't play happily because of their ears. What should we do?

Prevention is the most important. Take sterile cotton swabs, small bottles of medical alcohol or yellow liquid medicine when going out to swim, and wear earplugs when swimming in the water. Once the water enters, automatically control the water and dry the external auditory canal with a cotton swab. If the deep part can't be reached, you can use a hair dryer to adjust it to a breezy state to dry the ear canal to prevent moisture from breeding bacteria. Combined with wiping the external auditory canal with cotton swab dipped in alcohol or yellow liquid medicine for disinfection, the above operation can largely avoid the occurrence of external auditory canal inflammation.

Once your ear hurts, don't feel like you just have to endure it. Mild inflammation can be relieved by topical drugs and oral anti-inflammatory drugs. In this way, after the parents delay, there may be serious cases such as furuncle and pus in the external auditory canal, so they will go to the hospital to see a doctor and the swimming class will be suspended.

Swimming with water in summer is the most important thing to prevent ear inflammation. Mild inflammation can be cured quickly, so once you find ear pain, whether it is serious or not, it is most important to seek medical attention actively.

In hot summer, children playing outdoors during the day, drinking cold drinks and blowing air conditioners are particularly prone to acute laryngitis. There are often such children in the emergency department of otolaryngology at night recently. The child suddenly has an irritating cough and wheezing when sleeping at night. Parents think that the child has choked on something, but it is actually due to laryngeal mucosal edema caused by acute laryngitis, and even severe breathing difficulties and even suffocation may occur. Once this happens, please ask parents to seek medical treatment quickly and don't delay the illness.

The symptoms of acute laryngitis are irritating "cavity-like" cough and noisy breathing sounds, which are similar to suffocation and usually occur at night. Pay attention to summer when the weather is hot, don't be greedy for cold, drink less cold drinks and drink more warm water. In case of wheezing cough, you need to seek medical attention urgently.
