There are several ways to improve the column:

Cartilage transplantation:

Make a nasal margin incision or an endochondral incision in the nostril, and remove the head or tail of the alar cartilage. After cutting and shaping, sew the cartilage on the top of the vault and raise the tip of the nose. At present, more methods are to raise the tip of the nose by cutting off the ear cartilage and transplanting it.

Bilateral alar cartilaginous foot approach;

Make lateral incision of bilateral nasal columella, remove the soft tissue between the two medial feet, and then make mattress suture at the upper and lower ends, that is, close the two medial feet. This method is usually improved very little, and it is no longer used now.

Correction of blunt nasal tip;

The standard nose tip in aesthetics is conical, whereas the blunt nose tip is obviously not beautiful. The operation adopted the alar incision of nostril, and made 3-6 incisions on the cartilage surface of alar on both sides. The soft tissue between the medial feet of alar cartilage was removed, and the two medial feet were pulled by mattress suture. If the nasal tip is low, the transplanted cartilage can be raised.
