How to prolong the life of fruit trees and increase economic output
Limited by drought and water shortage, diseases, freezing injury and cultivation techniques, the economic life of apple trees on dry sloping land is only about 15 years. It is of great significance to solve the contradiction between drought and water shortage of fruit trees on dry sloping land, avoid freezing injury, prevent diseases, tap the regeneration potential of apple trees, maximize their benefits and prolong their economic life. During the period of 1987-20 12, we conducted an experimental study on apple cultivation techniques in dry land to prolong economic life in Xiaopiantou Village, Tianfengping Town, Pianguan County, Shanxi Province. Xiaopiantou Orchard is located near Pianhe Highway at the west 10 km of the county seat, with an area of 0.3 hm2, and mainly trees such as apples and pears. The park is located on the east side of Dongpo, with a slope of 30 ~ 50, and it is sandy loam. By taking effective measures, we can scientifically solve the contradiction of drought and water shortage of fruit trees on dry sloping land, do a good job in orchard soil and water conservation, strengthen underground management, increase the application of organic fertilizer every year, constantly improve the concept of plastic pruning technology, update and eliminate aging trees one by one, introduce excellent varieties, and repeatedly use grafting technology to transform, shorten the cultivation period of fruit trees on dry sloping land, prolong the economic life of orchard, and form a brand-new supporting cultivation model. Finally, the purposes of close planting, miniaturization of trees, simplified management and improved economic benefits are achieved.
