It is learned from the relevant departments of Jiujiang that at the end of the Tenth Five-Year Plan and in the middle and late period of the Eleventh Five-Year Plan, Jiujiang plans to build three Yangtze River bridges. A few days ago, the Jiangxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission, together with the Provincial Communications Department, the Construction Department, the Water Resources Department and Jiujiang City, conducted a special study on the construction of the Yangtze River Bridge and reported the research opinions to the National Development and Reform Commission.

It is understood that the Second Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge is a highway bridge built to solve the problem of the sudden increase of traffic across the river in Jiujiang. The construction site is from Jiujiang to Huangmei County, Hubei Province. The bridge mainly undertakes the cross-river traffic of Fuyin main line of national expressway network and newly-added national highway 105, and also takes into account the traffic between Jiujiang City, Huangmei County, Hubei Province and susong county City, Anhui Province. It is planned to start construction at the end of the tenth five-year plan.

The construction site of Ruichang-Wuxue Yangtze River Bridge is Ruichang-Wuxue, Hubei Province. Due to the rapid economic and urban development of the two cities in recent years, the annual passenger ferry traffic between the two sides of the strait has reached 800,000 passengers and the car ferry has reached 200,000 vehicles/year. The bridge is planned to be completed during the Eleventh Five-Year Plan period, and it will also become a river-crossing channel connecting the two main lines of the national expressway network, Shanghai to Chongqing and Hangzhou to Ruili.

Jiujiang Yangtze River Third Bridge is a city bridge and highway function, and its construction site is from Jiujiang City to Huangmei County, Hubei Province. Experts believe that Jiujiang is the central city at the junction of Jiangxi, Hubei and Anhui provinces with a long history. Whether it is beneficial to Jiujiang's own development or giving full play to Jiujiang's radiation function as a central city, it is necessary to build the third Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge, and it is planned to start construction in the middle and late period of the Eleventh Five-Year Plan.
