1, planting and pruning
Pruning Chimonanthus praecox can effectively promote the growth and development of root system. First, after the seedlings are planted, when the main branches are about 25 ~ 30cm long, they should be cored to pinch off the top flower buds, and then cored for the second time at a predetermined height to cut off other sprouted branches.
2. How to prune Chimonanthus praecox in growth period is more reasonable, mainly focusing on its pruning in growth period. When the leaf buds grow to 4 ~ 5 cm, it is necessary to cut off the redundant lateral buds around, and remove the diseased dead branches, dense branches and weak branches on the branches to ensure the full concentration of nutrients.
Step 3 prune before flowering
Chimonanthus praecox should also be pruned reasonably in the early flowering stage, mainly by properly removing the swollen flower buds, just to ensure that each branch has a pair of flower buds, combing the flower shape in time, removing too many useless flower buds and promoting the flowering effect of Chimonanthus praecox.
4. Prune after flowering
After the flowering period, the old branches, dead branches and disorderly branches are mainly cut off, the long branches are re-cut, and the weak branches are lightly cut. For perennial thick branches, only about 30cm is needed to avoid nutrient consumption and promote plant growth.
