Personal development suggestions for mechanical design
Hello, landlord!

I appreciate your trust. Now you should understand why posting is far more useful than private messages. Baidu is full of talents, so it is helpful to listen to your opinions.

It is good to know your own shortcomings, so that you can know your own development direction. As for the points you mentioned, I have my own opinion.

1。 You said that you didn't understand the processing technology because of the product restrictions of your company. I disagree very much.

As one of the three branches of light processing industry (sheet metal, machining and forming), sheet metal processing contains a lot of basic mechanical knowledge, including stamping, cutting, forming, bending, welding, mold forming, etc., and indirectly involves many auxiliary processes such as simple sheet metal mold, combined sheet metal mold and fixture. How can you say that you know nothing about processing? Even the conversion from sheet metal design drawing to plan drawing, the adjustment of bending coefficient and so on are all part of the foundation of mechanical common sense. I insist on a word, don't say every opportunity around you, there are opportunities everywhere around you. Sheet metal parts must be the big head of mechanical parts and cannot be discarded.

2。 How do you define mechanical foundation difference? Let's talk about the most basic mechanics, which is the two mechanics you mentioned. Theoretical mechanics, such a thick book, what have you learned after reading it? You don't have to recite so many complicated theories, you just need to know the four strength theories, and you don't even have to recite the formulas. You just need to know what these four power theories are about, and don't violate them when designing products. Just four sentences. What's so rare? Mechanics of materials, there may be many formulas, but you don't need to memorize them all. You just need to do things like bending modulus. When you need to use them, you just need to know where to find them. The only thing that needs to be absolutely mastered is the deformation curve of metal materials under tension (one is plastic material and the other is brittle material), which are just two very simple diagrams. Now finite element analysis is done by computer, so you just need to understand the theory.

3。 Simulation is our weakness. It is normal for foreigners to do well and you can only learn by yourself. I don't have much simulation experience, but I suggest that if you can make good use of ansys, you can complete the simulation calculation of ordinary materials and conventional mechanical parts. After all, we are not in the national research institute, nor in the high-tech industry, so there is no need to study so deeply.

So for your question:

1。 Let's start with the bits and pieces around us. Don't think that the tin boxes of electrical appliances and network control equipment are simple. The electrical appliances and telecom boxes in China are in a mess. Your products have detailed bidding documents and standards when bidding, but in fact, are they all done according to those standards? Everything written in the standard is very strict, but it is not actually designed according to the requirements. You should have a look at our national standard YD 1537-2006. Look at the foreigner's standard GR_487-2000, compare your products, and then tell me whether your products are qualified. If it is unqualified, how to change it? When you find that these products are not up to standard, you will find that you lack this knowledge. This is what you want to learn.

If you have no patience, look at dozens of pages of standards, and I'll ask you a few more questions. There are only two kinds of boxes you make: stainless steel shell (outdoor box); Sheet metal+surface spraying (both indoor and outdoor). What are the requirements of these two situations? Or how to describe it on the assembly drawing?

Stainless steel outdoor box requires at least protection grade IP54 and anti-collision grade IK 10. It is not easy to do these two things. It is necessary to seal them. If it is a single-layer box, it is inevitable to weld a lot, and it is difficult for the machinery industry to avoid welding, deformation and water leakage.

What is the test standard of surface corrosion resistance of sheet metal+surface spraying box? What is the standard of high and low temperature cycle test? How long is the anti-ultraviolet standard? What is the thickness of the surface coating? How to meet these standards?

What is the standard height and standard rack width of network equipment? 19 "rack and 2 1" rack, what is the width and height interval of ETSI rack, and why are they distributed like this?

Can you answer all these questions? At least hundreds of similar questions can be asked. Do you still feel that you know your company's products well? So start learning from your side.

2。 I answered a question about cost finance in a post. Please refer to the link below.

3。 I have answered your second question above. I suggest you study hard in your own company first. When you can answer all my questions, we will study whether you should change companies.

4。 I've been writing my resume these days and I'm going to change my job. Because I feel that the present environment can no longer teach me anything, and I need to change. I am no longer a purely technical person, and my future career goal is pure management. So job-hopping has a clear purpose. Income is a factor, and it depends more on whether the next job can bring you more things and whether it is in line with your career development.

For newcomers, I don't have any requirements, only a few points:

A sense of responsibility and professional ethics (these two points are extremely lacking after 80s. Fortunately, they should not have graduated, but many post 80s also have this problem).

B. be modest and eager to learn. Nowadays, many people are impetuous, and after learning a little, they think they know everything. If the machinery industry has this mentality, it can't be done at all.

C. persistent patience. The vast majority of people engaged in the machinery industry were naturally eliminated a few years ago, and those who can't walk to the end can't laugh at the end.

So I don't care much about the technical ability of newcomers. The newcomer is here to learn, but if he doesn't want to learn and refuses to learn, what shall I let him do?

5。 I seldom wander around the internet now. I came to Baidu because there are really many talented people here. It will be very enlightening to look at various problems in the classification of mechanical engineering. There are many good online forums, such as Made in China, China Quality Network and so on, all of which are very professional websites. I hope you can find them yourself.

Time relationship, let's stop here. I hope that the landlord will straighten his mind and start accumulating from the side.
