There are four or more rivers 18 in Yanqing county, which belong to Chaobai River, North Canal and Yongding River. Among them, Guishui River and Baihe River are Grade III rivers, and the rest are Grade IV rivers. The total length of the river is 290.5 kilometers (including seasonal rivers and rivers in dry season). There are three large and medium-sized reservoirs such as Guanting, Baihe and Gucheng, and more than ten small reservoirs such as Foyukou, Xiaojiakou and Shangshuigou. Guanting Reservoir is a part of Yanqing.
Guishui River is a tributary of Yongding River and the main river in Yanqing Plain, with a drainage area of 1 0,026.28 square kilometers. Originating in the eastern mountainous area of Yanqing County, it flows westward into Guanting Reservoir. The main tributaries are Foyukou River, Caijiahe River, Gucheng River and Lihe River. The upstream is connected with Baihe water diversion project.
The Chaobai River system in Yanqing County covers an area of 828.06 square kilometers. Baihe originated in Guyuan County, Hebei Province, and flowed into Baihe Reservoir in Yanqing County through Chicheng County. After manual adjustment, water can be replenished to Guanting and Ming Tombs Reservoir, and irrigated by Baihe Water Diversion Project. The annual water supply can reach 1 100 million cubic meters.
