Cutting method of geranium
The cutting methods of geranium can be divided into three points: cutting time, branch treatment and cutting maintenance.

1, cutting time

In order to make geranium cuttings survive well, it is necessary to carry out cuttings at the right time. It likes to grow in a warm environment and has the characteristics of heat resistance. Therefore, according to its growth habits, spring and autumn are the most suitable for cutting every year. If it is carried out in summer, it will rot easily.

2. Branching therapy

If you want to cut geranium well, you need to choose the top branches for cutting, so that the branches can take root quickly, and the length of the branches is about 10cm. After cutting the branches, put them in a ventilated place to dry the water in the incision, and then it is best to soak the base of the cuttings with indoleacetic acid solution for 2 seconds.

3. Cutting maintenance

In order to cut geranium well, it needs to be inserted into sand bed or mixed substrate of expanded perlite and peat, and then it needs to be maintained and managed to keep the substrate slightly wet, and then the plant is maintained in a semi-cool and ventilated place with the temperature controlled between 13- 18℃, so that it can germinate in about 2-3 weeks.

Growing environment of geranium

Geranium likes warm winter and cool summer. In winter, if the indoor temperature is kept at 10- 15℃ every day and the temperature is above 8℃ at night, the flowers can bloom normally. But the optimum temperature is 15-20℃. Geranium likes dryness and hates dampness, so it is not advisable to water it too much in winter. When the soil is wet, the stems are tender, which is not conducive to the germination and opening of flower branches; If the humidity is too high for a long time, the plants will grow white, the flowering branches will move up and the leaves will turn yellow and fall off.

Geranium needs plenty of sunshine during its growing period, so it must be placed in a sunny place in winter. Insufficient light, long stems and leaves, soft pedicels and poor inflorescence development; Buds in weak light often fail to bloom and wither ahead of time. Geranium doesn't like big chemical fertilizer, too much chemical fertilizer will make geranium grow too vigorously, which is not conducive to flowering.
