Zhong You No.4 was bred by peach breeding group of Zhengzhou Fruit Research Institute of China Academy of Agricultural Sciences. It was approved by Henan Province in 2003 and the state in 2008.
The original code name was "9248", and some places also used the code name "48" in regional trials, so there are still "48" nectarines in some places. The reason why Zhong You No.4 can become a classic oil is summarized as follows.
① Zhong You No.4 nectarine has no obvious shortcomings.
This is crucial. Most varieties have obvious advantages and can occupy a place in production. However, due to some shortcomings, its application is limited, and it is a flash in the pan among many varieties and soon disappears.

This variety has the advantages of open tree potential, high germination rate, moderate branching ability, fast growth, fast crown expansion, easy flowering, small flower shape and purple color.
② The quality of Zhong You No.4 peach is excellent.
Among the peaches matured in the same period, the quality of Zhong You No.4 is not inferior to any one, which laid a foundation for the long-term development in the future. Even now, nearly 20 years later, there is still a demand for planting.
