Guandu Ancient Town is a famous historical and cultural town in Yunnan Province and one of the birthplaces of ancient Yunnan culture. In ancient times, it used to be a ferry crossing on the east bank of Dianchi Lake. At night, the lights on ferries and fishing boats shine like stars. "Guandu Fishing Lamp" was once one of the eight scenic spots in old Kunming. During Nanzhao period, officials had to cross Dianchi Lake to reach Dongshi, where they boarded a boat and crossed the water, so they changed their original name to "Guandu", which means Guandu.
As a scenic spot, Guandu has become a treasure-house for dignitaries to build palaces and villas and celebrities to visit and linger. "How many pedestrians come and go here, the horseshoe is even frostier", "The wine curtain here invites me to get drunk and the boat takes me home", and the ancient Guandu is immersed in the sound of bamboo strings.
However, there is an old saying in Kunming that "the ancient city of the Millennium looks at Guandu, and the charm of Guandu lies in the pagoda". Among them, the pagoda is the King Kong Pagoda. As it is the most complete, largest and earliest existing Tibetan Buddhist Bowl-covered King Kong Pagoda in China, the State Council listed it as a national key cultural relic protection unit.
