In natural light, you can see whether the color of jadeite is natural and even, whether it has colored roots and so on. Among them, the color root of jadeite is an important basis for judging whether jadeite is natural jadeite.
2. Observe under incandescent lamp
Put the jade under an incandescent lamp and observe it carefully. If you see the color of jade is red, it means it is artificially dyed. If the color of jadeite does not turn red, there are two possibilities, one is natural color and the other is artificial dyeing, so we may need to use other methods to further identify it.
3. Ultraviolet fluorescent lamp
Observing jadeite under ultraviolet fluorescent lamp can effectively judge purple jadeite. Generally, natural purple jadeite has no fluorescence reaction under ultraviolet light, while dyed purple jadeite has obvious fluorescence under ultraviolet fluorescence.
Step 4 soak in boiling water
First, we need to prepare boiled water at 80 ~ 100℃, and then put the jadeite colored by inorganic raw materials and green polishing powder into boiled water at 80 ~ 100℃ for several hours. If the water turns green, it means that this jade is dyed.
5. Magnifying observation method
For some jadeite whose color is not very uniform and is very similar to natural jadeite, special attention should be paid to whether the color is added. We can use a magnifying glass and then carefully observe the overlapping edges of jadeite. Usually true and false colors are different in hue and so on.
6. Listen to the sound to tell
Because the internal structure of artificially dyed jadeite is destroyed, the quality of jadeite becomes loose and not dense. Tapping will make a dull sound, while tapping natural jade will make a crisp and pleasant sound. The difference between them is obvious.
7. Charles filter
Under the Charles filter, natural green jadeite appears green or grayish green, while dyed green jadeite turns pink to brownish red.
