Spring in Jinan

Jinan is famous for its many famous springs and beautiful scenery. "Cheetos are the best in the world", "Every spring, every family hangs willow" and "chinese odyssey is spectacular in ancient and modern times" ... The praise of the ancients painted the face and style of Jinan.

Jinan spring has a long history, and there are many springs, which are sweet and beautiful. Many scholars in the past dynasties described its sound, color, shape, appearance and taste, leaving many poems praising springs and chanting flowing water. The beauty of the spring can also be reflected in its primitive and elegant naming, such as Xiangquan and Baotu Spring. Some are named after properties, such as hot springs and cold springs; Some are named after animals, such as Jinhuquan, Heihuquan, Paoquan, Woniu Spring and Bailongquan. Some are named after plants, such as Liu Xuquan and Furong Spring. Some are named after their shapes, such as hanging springs and water curtain springs; Some are named after their colors, such as Zhusha Spring; Some are named after people, such as Shunquan, Dukangquan, Xiaogan Spring and Luoguquan. Some are named after jewels, such as Diaozhu Spring, Pearl Spring and Agate Spring.

There are many kinds of springs in Jinan, some like waterfalls, some like strings of pearls, and some like drizzle. Some springs flow through thousands of households, through streets and alleys, or through walls into courtyards, and can also fetch water by the window, which is unique. "Every household in Guobian faces the water". The whole spring city is immersed in spring willows.

Jinan spring water is also famous for its pure water quality and sweet taste. The spring water comes from the depths of the rock, with stable water temperature, little suspended matter in the water, crisp and sweet, dark brown and clear taste. Emperor Qianlong made two southern tours, drinking Baotu Spring water all the way, and named Baotu Spring "the first spring in the world".

So good, how did so many springs come from? The spring water in Jinan comes from the vast mountainous areas south of Jinan and north of Jinxiu River. The rocks in these mountainous areas are thick layers of pure limestone formed about 400 million years ago. In this limestone area, there are ditches, troughs, funnels, caves, underground rivers and stalactites on the surface, which facilitate a large amount of rainwater and surface water to penetrate into the ground. Therefore, it has created a special landform: in the dry season, the land is cracked and stalactites are clustered. Here, deep underground, you can hear the gurgling sound of running water. The limestone layer in the mountainous area inclines from south to north, with an inclination of about 30 degrees, and a large number of underground undercurrents are moving towards Jinan. As it happens, the underground rocks turned into solid igneous rocks in the north of Daming Lake in Jinan, and a large amount of groundwater flowed here, which was blocked by igneous rocks and piled up.

According to the concentration, topography, outflow characteristics and confluence of spring water, spring water can be divided into four spring groups: Baotu Spring Group, Wulongtan Spring Group, Pearl Spring Group and Black Tiger Spring Group.

Baotu Spring Group is located in the southwest of the old city of Jinan, starting from Baotu Spring South Road in the east, reaching Xujiahuayuan Street in the west, about 700 meters, starting from Weiping Street in the south and reaching Shizikou No.5 Road in the north, about 250 meters. There are 34 springs centered on Baotu Spring and Bailong Bay, including Baotu Spring Park.

Wulongtan spring group is located outside the west gate of the old city, within 300 meters to the north of Juyi Street, with a width of more than 200 meters from east to west. There are 2 1 spring around Wulongtan and Gu Quan.

Pearl Spring Group is located in the center of the old city, between Qushui Pavilion, Furong Street, Donggeng Road and quancheng road Post Office, with a distribution area of about 50,000 square meters. There are 10 springs centered on Pearl Spring and Mengying Spring. Pearl Spring Hotel has four springs.

Black Tiger Spring is located in the southeast of the old city, exposed on both sides of the south moat and the riverbed about half a kilometer long from east to west. There are 14 springs centered on Black Tiger Spring.

There are 29 other scattered springs. Baotu spring group is characterized by large flow and sweet spring water. The characteristics of Wulongtan spring group are that the spring water is crystal clear; Pearl spring is characterized by calm water surface and many bubbles like pearls; Black Tiger Spring is characterized by clear spring water and many bubbles.
