Tourmaline, also known as tourmaline, comes from the ancient Sinhalese word Turmali, which means "mixed gem".
For precious stones, tourmaline is the name of the ethnic group, but under the classification of GIA (Gemo Logical Institute), tourmaline can be divided into red tourmaline, green tourmaline, indigo tourmaline, Schor tourmaline, red tourmaline, water green tourmaline, two-color tourmaline, watermelon tourmaline and cat's eye tourmaline. Fourteen kinds of tourmalines, such as tourmaline, alexandrite tourmaline, hectorite tourmaline, chrome tourmaline and Paraiba tourmaline. Almost all tourmalines with gem-grade value are produced from pegmatite granite, and tourmalines have a wide range of origins, but most of the tourmalines on the market now come from Brazil, as well as from Tanzania, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, Namibia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Italy, California and Myanmar, and even Xinjiang and Yunnan in Chinese mainland.
At present, many unprofessional merchants in the market put some low-grade tourmalines and crystals together to sell, introducing tourmaline to customers as a kind of crystal. Many people think that tourmaline is a kind of crystal with low price. Actually, this is not right. Tourmaline and crystal are two different minerals. Tourmaline is a high-grade gem in the jewelry industry, and high-quality tourmaline is even rarer than diamonds. Crystal is an ordinary gem.
