The main required courses include: General History of China, General History of the World, Introduction to History, etc. Professional basic courses include: Introduction to Archaeology, Field Archaeology, Prehistoric Archaeology, Archaeology of Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties, Archaeology of Han, Tang, Song and Yuan Dynasties, Introduction to Museology, Cultural Relics and Archaeological Technology. Specialized elective courses include: China ancient ceramics, bronze ware research, jewelry and jade appreciation, gold and silver appreciation, etc. Practical courses include field archaeological practice, archaeological research and investigation, teaching practice, etc. Relying on the History Museum, Archaeological Laboratory of Capital Normal University, China Ancient Civilization Research Center, China and Latin America Ancient Civilization Comparative Research Center, Public Archaeology Center and Museum Development Research Center, this major has established practice bases with National Museum, Institute of Archaeology of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Palace Museum, Capital Museum and Beijing Cultural Relics Research Institute to further enhance students' professional practice ability.
