The watering times of Paeonia lactiflora vary according to the growth period. The demand for water at seedling stage and flowering stage is relatively large. Water can be poured every two to three days. Water and fertilization should be stopped one week before turning over the soil and changing the pots, and water should be soaked after transplanting.
Before planting peony flowers, we should apply sufficient base fertilizer to the flowerpot soil, mainly decomposed bone powder, manure and compost, and we can choose fully decomposed organic fertilizer and compound fertilizer. At this stage after the flower withers, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer can be applied to promote the flowering in the second flowering period.
The soil should be sandy loam with good drainage performance, not saline-alkali land, and it can be slightly acidic. The soil had better be loose and fertile. If the nutrition is not enough, you can add some humus soil or apply base fertilizer once.
