The Duke of Brittany Castle is the last castle before the Loire River joins the Atlantic Ocean. On the side of Nantes, there is a fortress surrounded by a 500-meter-long circular road with seven towers connected by retaining walls. This very urbanized castle was built by the Duke of Fran?ois II and his daughter anne of brittany at the end of the Middle Ages to defend the independence of the Principality of Brittany threatened by the French kingdom. On the side near the courtyard, there is a duke's mansion in the15th century, which is built with limestone in the Renaissance style. Other buildings were built in16th century and18th century respectively. They are bright and white in color, elegant in curve and exquisite in carving, which is in sharp contrast with the rough style of the external wall. The castle has been listed in the list of historical buildings and has been completely restored.
