Article 1 Overseas Chinese returning home to visit relatives (including accompanying spouses and foreign children) must fill in the Passenger Baggage Declaration Form and truthfully declare it to the Customs. The customs shall release luggage and articles duty-free according to the items and limited values listed in the Limited List (Annex I). /kloc-The luggage and articles carried by accompanying minor children under the age of 0/6 shall be released duty-free according to the items and limited values listed in Item 1- 10 of the Limited List of these Provisions, but children over the age of 12 may release a watch duty-free. Article 2 If the above-mentioned passengers enter or leave the country for many times within one year, the customs shall release the luggage and articles carried for the second time according to the items and limits listed in Item 1- 10 of the Limited List of these Provisions. Article 3 The luggage and articles carried by the above-mentioned passengers, such as articles exceeding the prescribed duty-free and tax-levied limits, and articles not included in the List of Limits, shall be returned, unless the customs approves the tax. However, the customs can register and release watches, radios, cameras and other items needed for the journey when entering the country, and must bring the original things out of the country when returning. Article 4 If the luggage and articles brought by the above-mentioned passengers to settle in China are within a reasonable amount for their own use, they shall be released duty-free and not subject to the restrictions in the Quota Table of these Provisions. However, each household can only buy one car for their own use, which is tax-free. Article 5 The above-mentioned passengers are not allowed to bring in or out articles prohibited from import and export (Annex II). Article 6 Where the goods released by the customs duty-free need to be sold, they shall be sold to the designated foreign goods purchasing station, and the taxes shall be paid according to the regulations, and offenders shall be dealt with according to relevant laws and regulations. Seventh foreign Chinese visiting relatives in China, China citizens visiting relatives abroad and foreigners residing in China shall also carry luggage and articles in accordance with these regulations. Article 8 Matters not covered in these Provisions shall be handled in accordance with relevant customs regulations. Article 9 These Provisions shall come into force as of December 1st, 1983.
