At the turn of spring and summer from 65438 to 0930, Chiang Kai-shek, Feng Yuxiang and Yan Xishan fought in the Central Plains, and Gansu was the rear area of the allied forces of Feng and Yan. In order to weaken Feng and Yan, Chiang Kai-shek bought Ma Tingxiang and Ma Tingxian, who were entrenched in Linxia, appointed Ma Tingxian as "Commander-in-Chief of the 15th Route of the Rebel Army" and ordered him to disrupt the rear of the Northwest Army. Therefore, Ma Tingxian took the opportunity to expand his power and seize the territory, and successively captured Wuwei, Yongchang, Minqin, Zhuoni and other places, and also captured Tianshui in May of 1930. After Tianshui was occupied, the thirteen counties in Longnan surrendered without a fight. Ma Shaotang, the county magistrate of Lixian County, was appointed as the brigade commander of the second brigade. Soon, Ma Tingxian informed Ma Shao to take up his post in Qin 'an. Ma Shaotang became suspicious, thinking that it was "transferring the tiger on the mountain", so he raised food, expanded the militia, renovated the Yugoslav capital, prepared to resist by force and asked for help everywhere. After getting ready, Ma Shaotang put An Lan, the county magistrate who had just arrived, in prison. Hearing this, Ma Tingxian was furious and sent Han and Wang Zhanlin to Lixian with an army of 6,000. The siege began on June 17 of the lunar calendar, and the city gate was attacked on all sides. Ma Shaotang held fast to the city, and the two sides confronted each other for more than 20 days. Ma Shaotang had no hope of foreign aid, so he sent someone to negotiate. While negotiating, Han and Wang Zhanlin invited coal mine technicians to prepare to bomb the city. On June 10, Ma Tingxian's army dug a tunnel under the northeast city wall, then blew it up with explosives, and troops swarmed in. Ma Shaotang's overseers were desperate for the first world war, but they could not defeat them, and they fled in all directions. Han and Wang Jun are peak sexually, regardless of age. They killed everyone. The massacre lasted for a whole day and night. There were more than 8,000 people in the city, more than 7,200 people died, and the bodies were everywhere, with rivers of blood. Ma Shaotang was captured, escorted to Tianshui and killed.
The massacre in Lixian county shocked the whole country. Under the pressure of national public opinion, Chiang Kai-shek sent Yan to Tianshui for investigation in 193 1 year 1 month. After accepting huge bribes from Ma Tingxian in Tianshui, Yan Erai reported to Chiang Kai-shek regardless of the truth: "Ma Tingxian has strict military discipline and never illegally slaughtered Feng." Ma Tingxian was appointed as "Commander of Longnan appeasement" by Nanjing government. After the news was announced, the reaction from all walks of life was very strong. The Longnan people who went to Lanzhou held a rally against it, demanding that the culprit be severely punished, and the procuratorate also vowed to impeach Yan Erai. Under the pressure of strong public opinion, Chiang Kai-shek had to deal with the massacre again. In September this year, he sent Huang Yin, commander of the Sichuan Army, to lead the army into Ma Tingxian, and at the same time secretly showed it to Ma Tingxian to take shelter. Ma Tingxian then secretly fled to Nanjing with gold, silver and jewels. At this point, a terrible massacre went away.
1933 In February, Liu Jixian, president of Lixian Disaster Relief Branch, collected and buried the bodies of the victims, which received extensive response. * * * raised from Baiyang 1400 yuan dug a deep pit at the foot of the north of the city and reburied the collected remains. There is a 17 brick tower built on it, which is called "Bone Delivery Tower". The tower is 3 feet 6 feet high and 7 feet 8 feet in circumference. It is decorated with couplets and embedded with inscriptions. Everyone agrees that June 10 is a mourning day every year. Later, the tower was demolished during the Cultural Revolution.
