Most people choose to visit the central axis, that is, they don't look at the palace on the side.
If the focus is on jewelry and clocks, it is suggested to give up the central axis and not study those wooden buildings.
There are many exhibitions on the east and west sides of the central axis, such as ceremony preparation exhibition, military equipment exhibition, musical instrument exhibition, emperor wedding exhibition, longevity celebration exhibition, Palace Museum exhibition and so on. These places display many treasures, including some jewels and clocks.
Ceramics museum is on the east side of the entrance, Wenhua Hall complex; Calligraphy and painting are on the west side of the entrance, Wuying Hall complex.
The most concentrated place to watch clocks is the Clock Hall, which is in Fengxian Hall. Ticket purchase form, 10 yuan.
The most concentrated place of jewelry and jade articles is the Treasure Hall, which is located in Ningshou Palace complex, just past Xiqingmen. Tickets are also bought separately. 10 yuan.
Both pavilions must pass through Jingyun Gate on the east side of Gan Qing Gate. You can see it.
I suggest asking the ticket office for a map first.
I try to visit only these two museums, plus a fasting palace and a noon gate. It took me a day, but I haven't visited Ningshou Palace Garden, which is Gan Long Garden.
If you are interested, you can go shopping together, but I'm going to study the roof of Fengxian Hall, which is a bit like putting the cart before the horse, hehe.
