The carapace is 62.5-114cm long and weighs 35-127kg. Generally, it is active in waters with water depth of 18 or more than 3 meters, with strong mobility and fast swimming speed. When preying on echinoderms, they will close their eyes and have no protective structure. The main living areas are shallow lagoons and coral reefs, and the food includes sponges, jellyfish, anemones, shrimps, crabs and shellfish, as well as fish and seaweed. Distributed in vast sea areas, mainly in tropical areas of Atlantic and Pacific oceans.
