The film is set in Shanghai during the period of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression in the 1940s. A group of young intellectuals sent Jia Zhi, a female student, to dress up as a young woman, pretending to move to Shanghai for business because of the fall of Hong Kong, in an attempt to assassinate mr. yi, the spy chief under the traitor Wang Jingwei. After Jia Zhi moved into mr. yi, she became friends with Mrs. Yi. After two years of careful arrangement, she successfully lured mr. yi to a jewelry store, and her associates attacked each other. However, due to Jiazhi's true love for mr. yi, when the murderer arrived outside the jewelry store, Jiazhi's feelings overwhelmed her reason, and she informed mr. yi to escape. Although mr. yi was moved by Jiazhi's saving his life, after he escaped from danger, he still made a move to block the jewelry store and make it extinct.
