Ruili, located in the west of Yunnan Province, is a border port city dominated by Dai and Jingpo nationalities, adjacent to Muse, the national port city of Myanmar. Ruili has a long history and culture. It is the birthplace of Dai culture, the ancient capital of Yunnan and Vietnam, the ancient country of Mengmao and the kingdom of Luchuan, and the hometown of peacock dance, the first intangible cultural heritage of Dai people in China.

Ruili is rich in wildlife resources and is known as the kingdom of small plants. Ruili is adjacent to the most important jadeite producing area in the world in northern Myanmar, and has a unique resource advantage in developing jewelry, jade and mahogany industries. It is a characteristic industrial base of Chinese jewelry and jade, known as the Oriental Jewelry City, and awarded the title of China Mahogany Culture and Characteristic Industry Capital by the China Timber Working Committee.

Terrain of Ruili City:

The shapes of basins and mountains in Ruili City are the same as those of valleys in Ruili City, but the structures are different. Ruili River runs through the whole dam from north to south and from east to west. The river moves backward and develops in a wide basin. There are many niujie lakes on the old river, swamps on the dam and floodplains along the river.

The sandbars in the center of Ruili River are relatively developed, with wide distribution of flowing water landforms and wide terraces in the basin. The result of repeated rise is several levels of erosion, which is obvious compared with multi-level terraces and layered landforms. There are large stepped mountains and hills in the northwest, and the relative height of the hills is between 20- 120. The high hills are broken steeply, and the low hills are complete and wide, and the slope is generally between 5 and 20.
