1866, john wesley Hyatt invented the plastic "celluloid" because he knocked over the collodion and found that it would become a tough and elastic material after freezing.
The first synthetic plastic was pressed by a resin heated mold, which was made by Backlander, an American Belgian chemist of 19 10 in the early 20th century.
Backlander used sawdust to heat resin and molded it into various products under pressure. After his surname, he named it plastic, and we called it bakelite.
