Gold (Aurum) is a metallic element with the symbol of Au and the atomic number of 79. The simple substance (free form) of gold, commonly known as gold, is a precious metal, which has been used as currency, preservation and jewelry for many centuries.
In nature, gold exists in the form of simple substance in gold nuggets or rocks, underground veins and particles in alluvium, and gold is also one of the monetary metals. Gold is solid at room temperature, with high density, softness, brightness and corrosion resistance. It is the metal with the best ductility, second only to platinum.
early stage
Gold has been recognized and highly valued since prehistoric times. It may be the earliest metal used by human beings, used for decoration and ceremonies. As early as 2,600 years ago, Egyptian hieroglyphics already described gold. King Tutelata of Mitanni claimed that gold was more than clay in Egypt.
The resources possessed by Egypt, Nubia and other countries and regions make it the main gold producing area in most history. The earliest known map is the papyrus map of Turin in 1320, which shows the distribution of gold deposits in Nubia and the indication of local geology. Strappo described the initial mining methods, including arson. On the other side of the Red Sea, now Han Zhi, Saudi Arabia, also produces large gold mines.
