Thai baht (ISO 42 17 code: THB) is the official currency of Thailand and is issued by the National Bank of Thailand. One baht equals 100 Satan.

In the printing of new Thai baht banknotes, three printing plates commonly used in the international banknote printing industry are used, namely lithography, relief and intaglio.
1. Lithography
Lithography is used to print background patterns, patterns and characters, such as double-sided printing patterns and shadows. The background patterns such as shading on the front of the new 100 and 1000 baht banknotes, all the patterns and patterns on the back of 100 baht are lithographically printed, and the white watermark on the right side of the new 1000 baht is printed with light green ink. On the back, with King Bhumibol of Thailand as the background, there are 34 small circles with the diameter of 1mm, 30 on the top and 4 on the bottom. These small circles are irregularly arranged and light in color, so they are not easy to forge. The copied results are either blurred or completely disappeared, which has high anti-counterfeiting performance.
2. Letterpress printing
Letterpress printing is mainly used to print the number of banknotes, special tips and Braille identification marks. The number of the new version of Thai baht banknotes still adopts the original composition, namely 1 Arabic numerals+1 English capital letters +7 Arabic numerals, of which 9 digits are * * *; Numbers are printed in Thai special font on the lower right corner of the front of the banknote, horizontally arranged from left to right, and printed with red letterpress ink; There are also tips for printing with 9 Thai relief inks in the upper right corner; In the new version of 1000 baht, a braille identification mark printed in relief without ink is added in the lower right corner of the front.
3. Gravure printing
Gravure is mainly used for printing main patterns (including national emblem, line name, head portrait, denomination figures, etc.). ). The bank name, lower left Thai denomination, lower right portrait, upper right Arabic denomination figure and back portrait of the new 100 and 1000 Thai baht banknotes are all intaglio printed.
(4) Other anti-counterfeiting features.
In the plate-making printing of the new Thai baht banknotes, in addition to three common printing methods, such as lithography, relief printing and gravure printing, six special printing methods, such as double-sided printing, laser holographic pattern printing, microfilming, invisible text printing, rainbow printing and line printing, have been adopted, which greatly enhanced its anti-counterfeiting function.
1. Duplex printing
Double-sided printing is one of the important anti-counterfeiting measures of paper money at present. In plate-making technology, this technology is to print some pictures and texts on different plates, and it does not constitute a complete picture and text (color or pattern) from any side alone. During the light transmission inspection, you can see that the front and back pictures and texts completely constitute a complete picture and text. As far as its printing technology is concerned, it is required that the up and down positions are good, the left and right sides are not overlapped, and there is no gap in the middle. This requirement is very high for forgers who have not received professional technical practice training, so it has high anti-counterfeiting performance. When the Bank of Thailand printed the new version of Thai baht banknotes, it still adopted this anti-counterfeiting technology which was favored by the world banknote printing industry, and used two opposite images and characters, thus greatly improving its anti-counterfeiting performance.
In the new edition 100 baht, the national emblem of Thailand on the upper left of the front is printed in purple ink intaglio, and the national emblem of Thailand on the upper right of the back is printed in red, blue and purple ink lithography. During the light transmission inspection, you should be able to see that the pictures and texts on the front and back are completely overlapped, forming a complete colorful and full pattern of the national emblem of Thailand, but for some reason, this pattern cannot be overlapped. The front portrait has a circular pattern with a diameter of 7mm above the right shoulder and below the left back, which is lithographically printed with multi-color ink. The front is red and light red, and the back is red and blue. During the light transmission inspection, we can see that the pictures and texts on the front and back completely constitute a complete Arabic denomination number "100" corresponding to the denomination of banknotes.
In the new edition 1000 baht, the pattern of the national emblem of Thailand on the upper left of the front is changed from the original multi-color lithography to brown ink gravure printing, and the pattern of the national emblem of Thailand on the upper right of the back is printed in red, purple and light green lithography. During the light transmission inspection, we should have seen that the pictures and texts on the front and back were completely overlapped, forming a complete pattern of Thailand's national emblem with rich colors, but for some reason, it could not be overlapped. The printed pattern on the front, which was originally located at the lower left, was moved to the lower right, and the traditional Thai pattern with a diameter of 6.5mm instead of the original 6mm was still used, and it was made by multi-color ink lithography. The front is purple and brown, and the back is red and light green. During the light transmission inspection, it was found that the circular traditional Thai patterns on the front and back were completely overlapped into a complete pattern.
2. Laser holographic pattern printing
Laser holographic positioning hot stamping is to accurately hot stamp the hologram of a specific part on the holographic anti-counterfeiting hot stamping film to the designated position of the paper money through photoelectric identification on the automatic height positioning hot stamping equipment. It is difficult to locate hot stamping. In addition to special hot stamping equipment, the production requirements for hot stamping film tape are also very high. Only by strictly controlling the molding process, cutting accuracy and winding tightness can the accurate positioning of hot stamping patterns be obtained. In addition, for holographic positioning hot stamping, the medium used to record the hologram needs to have high resolution, usually up to more than N3000 line pairs/mm. In the process of hot stamping, the imaging layer of holographic hot stamping film is also required to keep the information of this high-resolution laser hologram from being lost (that is, to keep the definition of high-density fine stripes from being blurred) to ensure that the hologram after hot stamping still has high diffraction efficiency. This kind of anti-counterfeiting technology is widely favored by the international banknote printing industry because of its high content and exquisite design, which can better show the personality charm of the brand logo. Seen from a certain angle, you can see the colorful pictures and texts on it. The Bank of Thailand has applied this anti-counterfeiting technology to the printing of new editions of 100 and 1000 baht banknotes.
The holographic pattern on the front of the new 100 baht banknote is wavy, with the widest point being 7mm, the narrowest point being 6mm, and the shortest distance from the left edge being 1 1 mm ... The holographic pattern is the stupa of a thousand hands in Thailand, and the background is composed of Arabic numerals "100", which is radial and gradually increases around the stupa. Each layer of Arabic numerals "100" is separated by Thai numerals "100", and at the bottom of the pagoda are multiple layers of Thai numerals "65438+". In addition, the blank space of the holographic security strip is filled with Thai denomination figures.
The old version of 1000 baht banknote originally had no laser holographic pattern, but the new version of 1000 baht has a holographic pattern printed on the left side of the front, which is wavy, with the widest point being 10mm, the narrowest point being 9mm, and the nearest place to the left edge being11mm. The main scene of the holographic pattern is Thailand. There are eight layers of Arabic numerals "1000" nested above the sun, and eight layers of Thai forehead numerals "100" nested below Nalai King. There are Arabic numerals "1000" arranged vertically (from bottom to top) and nested with Nalai King, and the Arabic numerals "1000" are surrounded above Nalai King's hands and around his lower body.
