Seeing this, you will definitely have questions. Why do duty-free shops have to refund taxes?

Although the name is Duty Free Shop, you should know which "tax" it is:

1) For goods produced in Thailand (made in Thailand), "tax exemption" means exemption from value-added tax, which is called TaxFree in English.

2) For goods produced abroad, "tax" refers to tariff, which is called DutyFree in English.

So "tax exemption" does not mean that all taxes are exempted, so you still have to go through a tax refund process.
