Extended data:
The excavation of Cao Cao's tomb began in 2008. According to Pan Weibin, the publishing cycle of archaeological reports is relatively long, and the speed of Cao Cao Gaoling has been very fast.
Why? There are many new things unearthed in Cao Cao's tomb, which have never been seen before by the archaeological community, so there is a cognitive process. At the beginning of excavation, we can quickly make a preliminary judgment on the tombs according to the unearthed cultural relics, strata and ages.
However, there is still a lot of basic work to be done in order to conduct comprehensive and in-depth research. All new things, such as the stone tablets used by Wei, need to be studied, digested and reasonably explained.
If a cultural relic is unclear, it will delay the whole research process, and we must wait until the information is complete and fully understood before we dare to draw a conclusion. In addition, many cultural relics in Cao Cao's tomb are seriously damaged, and it takes time to repair them. At present, the restoration is still in progress, but most of them have been completed, and more than 920 cultural relics have been restored.
