Hongshixia Ecological Park is located two kilometers north of Yulin, a famous historical and cultural city in northern Shaanxi. Hongshixia Ecological Park has been the frontier fortress of Han nationality and northern nomadic people since ancient times. It is the junction of the northern end of the Loess Plateau, the Mu Us Desert and the southern edge of Ordos, and also the junction of the farming civilization of the yellow land and the nomadic culture of the Mongolian prairie. Desert and border scenery, loess and Mongolian and Chinese customs are all in sight.
Hongshixia Ecological Park is a part of Hongshixia, a frontier natural and cultural scenic spot. Yuxi River, one of the two main streams of Wuding River, runs through the garden with water. The downstream is the famous Xia Nan Hongshixia Cliff Stone Carving Treasure House, and the upstream is the largest artificial Haizi Hongshixia Beixia Reservoir on Yuxi River. Looking east at Beitai, the largest fortress town of the Great Wall of Wan Li, looking west at Mu Us Dune.
Hongshixia is about 350 meters long, so it is named because the mountains are all red stones. The confrontation between east and west is magnificent. In the canyon, the Yuxi River is fast-flowing, with lush trees, gorgeous peanuts and beautiful scenery.
The east cliff is Xiongshan Temple, and the west cliff is carved with calligraphy and painting and stone carvings. There are 25 grottoes of different sizes on the east and west stone walls. Calligraphy and stone carving on the west coast wall are quite famous. In the old days, frontier generals and literati came to Yulin to drink and sing in Xiongshan Temple, leaving more than 160 valuable calligraphy works, the largest about 6 meters and the smallest about one inch. Seal, official script, line and grass are complete, and the brushwork is vigorous and powerful. It is known as the "forest of steles" in the Great Wall of Wan Li.
Being in Hongshixia Ecological Park, you can also taste the poetic ancient culture of Saibei. The Great Wall of the Six Kingdoms passes through the garden, and the historical site Dianjiangtai and the tomb of King Li of Xixia are restored here. The park is surrounded by mountains and waters, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and integrates history and humanities in the beautiful natural environment, making people "touch nature and feel culture".
