When I was just engaged in jewelry design, I felt that other people's works were very beautiful, but I didn't know the direction. The former is the normal design method, that is, what the customer needs, the solution we help him solve the problem, the best solution. They must carefully understand the design carrier, functional requirements, consumer positioning, and even the materials used, molding technology, technology and so on; The latter is passive, so we should take the initiative, the designer develops the design himself, and then goes to the merchant.

The above leads to two factors: "what to design" and "how to design". The art of design consists of two parts: language and the meaning to be expressed by language. "Design what" is obviously symbolic on the spiritual level. We are used to using images to understand the meaning of works. There is nothing wrong with this, but the expression of any theme needs the support of the corresponding design language. Without the development of the latter, the development of theme expression will become empty talk. It can be said that the development of language and semantics is the internal driving force of design evolution, and the influence of the two factors is different at different stages and in different environments, which will be discussed below.
